Quantum Physics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

This is my first entry about quantum physics so far, and let me just tell you, it's as awesome as a chicken running around with it's head cut off, and that's PRETTY FREAKING AWESOME.

When I first started getting into it, I learned that there aren't very many good books about the subject at all. I got two books from the library that were supposed to be about the subject, and one had half of a page about quantum physics, and the rest was all about Einstein, and the other didn't talk about it at all. I have to say that the most informative thing that I have found about quantum physics is the Wikipedia page.

Just go to Wikipedia and type in quantum mechanics(It's the same thing as QP). I'll also put the link in the sidebar. It's quite big and fat, and I think it's very interesting.

So now I'm going to start talking about what I've learned so far(finally...). I've learned a lot about QP so far, such as it's a very difficult, yet still fun topic. Also, to understand some parts of quantum physics you need to understand regular physics. But I haven't gotten there yet :D.

I have to say that the most interesting thing I've learned about is Schrodinger's cat. Schrodingers cat is a thought experiment devised by Erwin Schrodinger in 1935. A cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal moniter detects radioactivity, the flask is shattered, the poison is released, and the cat dies. the Copenhagen interpretation of QP implies that after a while the cat is alive and dead at the same time. But, when someone looks into the box, the cat is either alive or dead, not alive and dead. This poses the question of when exactly quantum superposition(this is a fundamental principle of QP that means that a physical system exists in all of it's particular, theoretically possible states, but when observed, it gives a result corresponding to only one of the possible results.) ends and reality collapses into one possibility or the other. Here's a diagram :D

I know it sounds complicated, but once you get it, IT'S FLIPPING AWESOME. Seriously, I'm really glad that I chose to study this topic.

So, that's all I have for you good folks today. Please suggest topics for me to do Weird Science on, and I'll post more stuff soon. So... yeah. Laterz for now.

Do you like my little thing I did at the end? Yeah, I quite like it. I think it's going to be a new thing with me, like I'll put it at the end of every post... yeah... I'm watching the Star Wars movies with my dad, and it's so cool... we're watching Return of the Jedi tonight or tommorow, so yeah... bye.

I'm ThetaSigma, and if you read this, then you are officially awesome.
